PRESS RELEASE:

SMIITY Implemented in Madeira in Partnership With Turismo da Madeira

SMIITY, an accessible, free and mobile platform compatible with iOS and Android mobile devices, which allows regions, cities and/or monuments to communicate with tourists and citizens, arrives to Madeira. The platform was presented last Friday in Funchal, by mobinteg's founders Fernando Pinto and Pedro Geraldes, in an event that was attended by the Regional Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus.

SMIITY provides the user, in his language, with news, events, points of interest, trails and more. Through interaction with beacons, small signal transmitters that send these contents to the user's mobile device through Bluetooth Low Energy, these contents can be automatically presented to the user, without him having to look for them.

Madeira, in particular Funchal, will have the installation of several beacons in different parts of the city, namely in the Museum of Quinta das Cruzes and the Fort of São Tiago, providing a more dynamic and interactive experience for citizens and tourists.

In addition to being accessible, SMIITY is an inclusive solution, especially for the blind community, since it has a text-to-speech functionality, which converts text content to audio, in the language of the device.

The mobile device can also be used as an audioguide, making the user experience even more complete, rich and immersive, thus avoiding the use of additional equipment. SMIITY is available in Portugal, the United States and Italy.
